Kerala – the God’s Own Country, with the Arabian Sea in the west, The Western Ghats in the east and connected with 44 rivers, Kerala enjoys unique geographical features, Serene beaches, Emerald backwaters & lakes, Lush hill stations and exotic wildlife, waterfalls, Sprawling plantations and paddy fields, Ayurvedic medicines, Enchanting art forms, Magical festivals, Historic and cultural monuments.

Alleppey / Alappuzha populary called as the venice of the East is one of Kerala’s most exotic backwater destinations. National Geographic (Nat Geo) Channel has listed Kerala backwaters among the Top 50 destinations of a life time. The hoseboat journey at Alleppey / Alappuzha backwater is the ideal way to soak in the delights of rustic Alappuzha. This backwater country with its vast network of lakes, lagoons and freshwater rivers with beautiful sceneries.

Alleppey / Alappuzha and Kumarakom both are famous backwater cruise routes in Kerala. But Alleppey is best for budget travelers as all types of house boats are available. Different Categories of House Boats are available starting from 1 Bed Room to 8 Bed Rooms House Boat with Conference room facility. The AC – Air Condition would be operational between 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM. We strongly recommend to prefer AC rooms during the night stay in the boat. Most houseboats includes complementary breakfasts, lunch, dinner and snacks. We could also buy fish locally and get it prepared by the chef on the houseboats as per our need.

Traveling in a houseboat in Alleppey / Alappuzha is an enchanting experience with it’s cool breeze, the occasional migratory birds, seemingly endless paddy fields, and seasonal rains make the boat ride a unique experience that we can savor forever. Alappuzha is also famous for it’s snake boat races during the month of August, marine products and coir industry.

Travel Guide for Alleppey / Alappuzha Houseboat Backwaters Kerala:

Check in Time: 12:30 PM – we will be greeted with cool welcome drink.

Lunch Break: 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM
Menu: Rice, Karimeen – Fish fry, Sambar, Cabbage thoran, Long beans fry, Curd, Pappad, Pickle, Salad, Small Banana

4:00 PM Tea break – Tea/Coffee with snacks – Onion Pakaodas or Banana Chips.

5:30 PM House halting on the river side, we can enjoy village walk, paddy field visit, fishing.

Dinner will be provided between 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Dinner menu: Rice , Dal fry, Chappathi, Chicken Curry , Vegetable curry.

We will get in to bed around 10:30 PM.

Next day, we can enjoy the morning cruise by the breakfast 7:30 PM.
Breakfast Menu: Tea, Coffee, Idly, Sambar, Chutney and Pineapple

We can enjoy the bright morning cruise through allepey backwaters which is very pleasing to watch.
