Recently visited The Book and the Arts – A Publishing Journey : Tara Books Exhibition on 25-year engagement with Books Publishing The Gallery @ InKo Centre, Chennai. The exhibition examined the book as a cultural object, features a set of brilliantly conceived typographic, with each image standing in for the spirit of a key Tara title. On display also are Tara’s titles published in the Korean language, testimony to creative global partnerships that help sustain journeys such as this one.

 

Special thanks to Mrs. Sreekala Narayanan, the Executive Assitant of The Indo – Korean Cultural and Information Center, who enthusiastically guided and explained about Tara book publishing art exhibition.

Tara Books is a collective of writers, designers and bookmakers, who publish hand-made illustrated books for children and adults. While they generate many of their titles in-house, they also work with creative professionals from across the world. They are known for books made entirely by hand, and over the years expanded their skills in bookcraft to include risography and letter-press printing, in the old style.
