Andavar Ashoka Halwa shop /Andavar Halwa kadai is a 50 years old small shop that sells the most authentic and delicious Ashoka Halwa shop in Thiruvaiyaru in Thanjavur / Tanjore district. They serve the hot Halwa in banana leaf with a little amount of mixture which is thought to enhance the flavor. This is very much different from wheat halwa in texture. It’s the best place for fine-tasting halwa at normal prices. They also sell regular wheat Halwa and Kara Sev, mixture, and Ompodi.

The Ashoka Halwa / Asoka Halwa / Moong Dal Halwa / Pasi Paruppu Halwa is the very famous ghee sweet from the famous Musical locality – Thiruvaiyaru in Thanjavur / Tanjore district. The Ashoka Halwa is made of moong dal, know as the “Pasi Paruppu” in the Tamil Language, with sugar and ghee as its main ingredients. This halwa is also known as “Thiruvaiyar Halwa”.
