– famous pondicherry beach visit photo coverage

Recently visited the Promenade beach also called the Pondicherry beach which is one of the wonderful tourist spots because of various significant attractive landmarks nearby this beach. The major locations nearby this beach include the beautiful coastal beach covers Old lighthouse, the War Memorial, Heritage Town Hall, the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, Chief Secretariat office of Puducherry and the Sri Aurobindo Ashram.  This beach is a favorite place for morning and evening walks, as well as a favorite destination for picnics all the time, as the heavy vehicle traffic is restricted.

There are numerous beautiful handicraft shops on the beachside, where we can get beautifully knitted handicrafts. It’s a perfect place for nature lovers and wanderers for sightseeing, where we can enjoy sunrise and sunset.

The Government of Pondicherry has built huge boulders along its shore at the Bay of Bengal to prevent the erosion and subsiding shoreline at Promenade, so it’s called as Rock Beach due to the presence of rocks and boulders. Few also call it Mahatma Gandhi beach, as the famous mahatma Gandhi statue is on the front of the beach.
