Recently visited the Krishnamurti Foundation India (KFI) – Vasanta Vihar in Chennai, which is situated on a wonderful green and peaceful greenish campus. The Krishnamurti Foundation India (KFI), was founded in 1928 by Jiddu Krishnamurti (1895-1986) the greatest philosopher, thinker, religious teacher, speaker, and writer, who is regarded as the most profound impact on human consciousness in modern times lived in Chennai.

Jiddu Krishnamurti was also once part of the Theosophical Society. But withdrew from the Theosophy organization and formed the Krishnamurti Foundation India (KFI), Chennai.

The Krishnamurti Foundation India (KFI) was set up as a charitable institution initially under the name of The Rishi Valley Trust has its headquarters in Vasanta Vihar, Chennai. The campus of Krishnamurti Foundation India (KFI) is actually Krishnamurti’s home, which now serves as a study center, a library, a bookstore, and a repository for the original teachings.

With amazing accuracy, J. Krishnamurti disclosed the inner workings of the human mind and demonstrated how it was the source of all of our problems. J. Krishnamurti established four foundations in India, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Spain, each to preserve and make available for posterity his teachings without distortion.

Krishnamurti Foundation India (KFI) Library:

The Krishnamurti Foundation India (KFI) also has a well-stocked library that maintains an archive of Krishnamurti’s original works, letters, photographs, and reference material about his life and works.

The Krishnamurti Foundation India has published nearly 100 books of his talks, dialogues, and writings. These are some of the more widely read books over the past sixty years and are available at www.kfionline.org.

Monthly Retreats at The Krishnamurti Foundation:

The Krishnamurti Foundation organizes a monthly retreat, which has J Krishnamurti’s thought-provoking speech videos and discussions on various real-life topics.

Krishnamurti Foundation India (KFI) Schools:

The Foundation also established several schools across the country as a way to reach his teachings to the world. These include Rishi Valley School in Madanapalle, Rajghat Besant School in Varanasi, The School in Chennai, The Valley School in Bangalore, Pathashaala in Elumichampattu, and Sahyadri School near Pune.

Tuesday to Friday: 9.30 am to 5.30 pm
Saturday & Sunday: 9.30 am to 6.00 pm
Monday weekly holiday

The Study and Library at Vasant Vihar is being re-opened for visitors from Monday to Friday.
Working hours are 10 AM to 4 PM. It would remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

It is mandatory for all visitors to the Library to have taken both the vaccination doses. They should also strictly maintain Covid protocols (Compulsory masking, social distancing, and not crowding on the campus.) Visitors are also not allowed to spend time on the lawns and in other places.
