How Navratri / Dussehra / Dasara festival is celebrated? :

The Navratri / Dussehra / Dasara is one of the major festivals celebrated for nine days throughout India. Navratri festival is specially dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Durga, and Goddess Saraswathi. During the Navratri festival, Golu – the dolls display will be exhibited and arranged in steps, which displays a variety of miniature idols of Hindu gods, goddesses, mythological characters, saints, national heroes, animals, doll representation of characters from Mahabharata and Ramayana.

Each day ladies and kids sing devotional songs, slokas, also distribute Sundals, Sweets and Fruits. The 9th day is celebrated as the Saraswathi Pooja, for the Goddess of knowledge. The last day of this celebration is called the Vijayadasami, the day of victory for Goddess Durga. In South India, it’s called Golu / Kolu, Bommai Kolu, Gombe Habba, Bommala Koluvu.
